Mortal Online 2 shares its new roadmap and answers questions about crafting, combat, and player politics

The Mortal Online 2 team recently released a roadmap for the remainder of 2018 and beyond, and it contains some important information for anyone who is looking to try out the new MMO. It also includes some juicy details about the direction for the game, including the players’ ability to craft and manage their own ever-growing cities, the addition of player-run cities, and the creation of factions, all of which will be part of the game in some way.

Our past few blogs have covered a lot of new information on Mortal Online 2, and today we’ve got a recap of everything we’ve learned so far. We’ll start with the new crafting system, which will be available to all players, regardless of the level they start in. You may have seen some images of how it works, but there are still some things we want to explain. For starters, crafting will take place in a new crafting area, located in the top left hand corner of the world. We’ll talk more about this when you get a chance to explore it, but for now, let’s focus on the materials you’ll be able to gather.

The developers of Mortal Online 2 have been pretty active lately, even ignoring the latest sandbox patch for the content. Take, for example, the series of three YouTuber Wolf Time Q&A videos in late June, in which Star Vault CEO Henrik Nyström answered questions on a variety of topics. Here are some highlights:

  • The developers are working on a more robust system for ranking countries. The plan is to balance the gain and loss of status and create meaningful tasks for the nation that affect the game as a whole.
  • There are a few crafting updates, including a shooting skill that allows players to make their own arrows and the ability to enchant armor for magical resistance, while cooking probably won’t see much improvement other than balancing out food effects.
  • As for combat, Nyström confirms that he’s worked on blunt damage and dismemberment for the player; special moves for each type of weapon, such as spear-holding for handguns, backstabbing for daggers, or double-stabbing for two-handed weapons; and the ability to command Maunts to attack.
  • Finally, Nyström mentions that the developers keep a close eye on player politics, as this gives insight into how players play the game and what they like or dislike. However, they are not involved in player politics.

More news about MO2 : The developers have created a roadmap of updates for the next two months. July will include things like combat balance, wildlife, and client optimizations, while August will add the Spiritist School of Magic, new armor, weapons, and horse armor, and a new city. Other features in development include support for role-playing, flights, housing and core content, and fishing.

As for the magic schools, fans can vote via an online poll on the next magic school to be added to the game, as well as details on what each school has to offer.
