Rare hasn’t announced a start date for the fourth season of Sea of Thieves yet, but we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out given the third season is expected to wrap up this month.
Season 3 of Sea of Thieves premiered on June 22nd, with the A Pirate’s Life narrative following Captain Jack Sparrow and his gang of pirates.
Seasonal events in Sea of Thieves usually run around three months, and with the third season expected to finish this month, we may anticipate Sea of Thieves Season 4 in September.
Season 4 of Sea of Thieves is set to premiere in 2019.
Before we get into what content may be coming in Season 4, here’s our current estimate for when Season 4 of Sea of Thieves will start and finish. Season 4 of Sea of Thieves: Content and Details
There’s not much to go on right now since Rare hasn’t officially announced Sea of Thieves Season 4, however it’s been suggested that a recent slip-up may have disclosed a theme for the fourth season.
Rare has an Artstation website where they can share the team’s work from Sea of Thieves with the audience, and a model of a Manta ray was uploaded and then immediately removed, according to a Reddit thread.
It’s tough to use this model as evidence since there’s no confirmation it was on the website before it was deleted, and it may just as well be a fake. It does, however, have the Bon Art Studio logo, which provides Rare with 3D and concept art services.
Could this be an indication that Rare wants to focus the fourth season on marine life, with turtles, seals, and sea lions, penguins, and perhaps crabs on the horizon?
