Sony announced today that it would be bringing PlayStation Now to its standalone PS4 console in July 2021. The service will be available on PS4, PS4 Pro, and PSVR. The PS Now service will work as a cross-buy across devices. So if you already own a PS4, for instance, you can use it with your PS Now subscription to play as many PS Now games as you want.
Starting in July 2021, PlayStation Now will be introducing a new streaming service designed exclusively for subscribers to the “PlayStation Now” premium subscription service. The service will launch with a series of five multiplayer games: Battlefield V, The Division 2, Far Cry 5, Monster Hunter: World, and Red Dead Redemption 2, with more games being added in future as new exclusives are released.
More than 200 games are expected to be available on PS Now by the time it closes down in July 2021, so we’re going to take a look at the most interesting titles that you’ll be able to purchase and play this summer. In Red Dead Redemption 2, players take on the role of Arthur Morgan in a compelling story about life in America at the dawn of the modern age. As a member of Van der Linde’s gang, he steals and fights on the border. You can read our review of this game here.
Meanwhile, Nioh 2 takes players to Sengoku-era Japan and the deadly Dark Kingdom, where they will face off against merciless demons. New in this game is a renewed battle system and the ability to turn into a Yokai.
The psychological thriller Judgment will also be on the program. Playing as Takayuki Yagami, a disgraced lawyer, players work their way through Kamurocho’s underground criminal network and investigate gruesome murders. You can read our test report here.
