June 25th marks the beginning of the Open Beta for a new game called Windjammers 2. Developed by the same team that created Windjammers, the sequel was based on the idea of giving players two scoreboards instead of one, and the ability to use two different control schemes: one that is touch-enabled, and another that is keyboard-based. As the name suggests, windjammers is a pick-up-and-play game that doesn’t require players to write anything down. The answer to, “How do you play Windjammers 2?” is really simple: Touch the screen to move your paddle, touch your opponent’s paddle to bump it away, and keep your ball in the air to score points.
Tomorrow, an open beta of the 2nd installment in the Windjammers series begins. There are two ways you can play: local multiplayer or online multiplayer. I’ll be playing in both modes and keeping track of my progress in the Steam forum.
Windjammers 2, the sequel to the best-selling Windjammers game, will begin the Open Beta testing phase on Friday, November 30, 2014. So, what’s new this go-round? Well, for one, the game will be released on Steam (Windows, Mac and Linux) and iOS. The Open Beta also features a new game mode, Overdrive.
Dotemu’s Windjammers 2 will have an open beta starting tomorrow and running until August 22.
Players can join the open beta on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam starting August 11 at 3 p.m. CT. A sandy beach, a raging stadium, a boisterous ring, and a soaring rooftop are all included in the arenas. Those who possess the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 versions of the game can play with one another, while Steam users will have their own league.
Beginner-friendly Steve Miller, all-arounder Biaggi, newcomer Sophie de Lys, and tanklike Gary Scott are among the characters who appear.

Hand-drawn artwork, as well as new moves and gameplay features, will be featured in Windjammers 2. With techniques like the slapshot, dropshot, jump, smash, and the powerful EX MOVE at players’ disposal, the game is designed to be simple to learn yet difficult to master.
The game’s final version will be released “soon.”
