The first Super Bowl was played on January 15, 1967. It pitted the Green Bay Packers against the Kansas City Chiefs and it took place in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Packers won 35-10 to claim their first of five championships under Vince Lombardi. They would go on to win again twice more before retiring from championship play after winning the 1971 season’s Super Bowl IV 41–24 over Dallas at New Orleans’ Tulane Stadium.
