Make My MMO: Crowfall is one of the biggest crowdfunded MMOs to ever fully launch

Crowfall is a new MMORPG that is being launched by the team behind the hit game Kickstarted MMORPG, Eteria. Crowfall is a massive project, and they plan to spend roughly 2-3 years in Early Access, with a launch that can be accelerated in the future. Eteria was largely successful with its Kickstarter, and the team has now shifted their focus to this new game. The team has been very open about their development process on the Crowfall Subreddit, and the game is currently in its Early Access stage, with a playable Alpha available for those who are interested in giving it a try.

Crowfall is the spiritual successor to the hugely successful CryEngine-powered MMORPG, Star Citizen, and developers over at Cloud Imperium Games are offering an unprecedented opportunity for the virtual space game: a closed beta. The closed beta will encompass all three major game modes, and will last for four weeks; it will be followed by a follow-up phase that will run for two weeks and will introduce PVP (player vs. player) combat.

Yes, some crowdfunded MMOs are very successful. But others are crumbling and wearing out, and you need to hear from the series of games that asked you for money up front in exchange for a promise of input and transparency. And that’s exactly what Make My MMO offers every Saturday. Help us keep them at bay, will you?
