Dauntless’ roadmap updates include a Repeater refresh, the Omnicell sub-class system, and shock changes

Dauntless is the new, free-to-play action role-playing game from developer Phoenix Labs and publisher Beep Games, and you can now get started with the sci-fi survival title if you own an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC. To help you get started, we’ve got a handy guide that details all the basics for Dauntless rookie players.

Dauntless is a game that I am obsessed with. The Dauntless community is particularly passionate. Some people love the game for its intense combat. Others love it for its open world, its story, its characters, and its fun roleplay elements such as the legendary Dauntless Hallmarks.

Dauntless players are probably busy hunting for Chronowarrot or Exotics, but it never hurts to see what’s coming next, which brings us to the game’s roadmap and a series of planned updates.

Let’s start with Omnisells, which is the name of the subclass system proposed in the roleplay. These omnisels fit in a single slot and give a passive buff and an active ability, effectively replacing the lantern’s passive and active abilities. There are currently four Omnisells available – Discipline, Bastion, Glacier and Wind Fury – to suit different playstyles, from high mobility and damage to tank absorption and the ability to switch between defence and attack.

Next up is an update to Repeater’s weapons, which removes the modular design, makes mods, grips and cameras clearer, and allows for better range and field of view control in target mode.

Finally, the game plans to make some changes to the Shock Behemoths, starting with bug fixes and then refining the creature type. Speaking of thunderstorms: The eighth. In July, the Wild Thunder hunting pass will be released.

Also, all four maps are called Heroes of Ostia, which could be the name of the next update, but since roadmap plans can change, it’s best not to jump to conclusions. Anyway, there’s something in the plans.
