We’re in a unique position to talk about Magic Legends, because we’ve not only been following the game’s development since its inception in 2016, but we’ve also been playing it! Magic Legends is a free-to-play (F2P) TCG video game developed by Neople and published by Playtika. It is a spin-off of the original game that was released between 2007 and 2009, Magic: The Gathering, which was also developed by Neople. It is the sequel to the game, Magic Duels, which was released on the iOS and Android platforms in 2014. It was released on December 10, 2017 on the Android and Windows 10 Mobile platforms. It was released with the title “Magic Duels: Origins” in Japan.
At the start of 2018, a few weeks before the start of the Winter Olympics, a number of mobile game developers began announcing that they were rebuilding their games for the Nintendo Switch, and that these reworked games would be appearing in the Nintendo eShop for free. Now, it appears that all of these developers have scrapped their plans, and no further Switch games will appear.
In recent weeks, we’ve usually covered the most depressing beta news towards the end, but this time it comes to the forefront with the news that Magic Legends is closing its doors without ever officially coming out of beta. Sure, he had practically beta left, but…. That’s how it works, you know? A sad and depressing principle.

We’re closing the beta testing newsbook this week, but there are still games in beta testing listed below. You can check them out and let us know if any of these titles slipped through the cracks in a new testing phase. We would be grateful if you would do that.
As always, we believe that the open MMO is in a testing phase when it offers free public registration and when it sweeps the server before launch. An MMO is in test phase, closed if it goes through a closed test phase to which the general public does not have free access; it is also usually under NDA. MMOs with early access and MMOs with crowdfunding that we believe are seriously testing will be included. So-called open-beta MMOs with online stores, no signs of a western launch, or limited interest to our readers will not be included; nor will we include expansions, with few exceptions.

ViewMagic Legends is an upcoming game for Linux and MacOS, which is based on the popular card game Magic: The Gathering (MTG). The game looks really good and has drawn a lot of attention because it has been announced to be the first game to use the Unreal Engine 4.
