Last year, Astrum.tech announced the launch of a new Gaming platform and it was called Ascent. The platform seemed to be building on the success of Second Life, which was one of the pioneers of gaming as a social experience. While the Ascent system is still in beta, it already includes over 1,000 games, and is gaining momentum, which has led to a recent announcement that they are expanding their platform to be used on new platforms, such as iOS.
On the 6th of April,2016, the Ascent application was officially released for Android and iOS. Despite it being just a few months since the release of the Android and iOS versions, cross-platform support for Ascent began on the 11th of April.
As the keeper of the Ascent games, we are constantly working to keep the Ascent experience great on all of our supported platforms. Of course, the first time you launch a game on a new platform, it’s not always intuitive what you should do to get the best experience. For Ascent: Empire of the Sky, we’ve compiled a list of tips to make sure your experience on a new platform is as great as possible.
Players blast their way through the vast cyberpunk planet of Veles as freshly liberated slaves, after the fall of the megacorporation that formerly controlled them, in the twin-stick shooter The Ascent. While some may do so on their own, others will most certainly resort to the game’s co-op option, wondering whether cross-platform compatibility would be available at launch.
The Ascent is accessible through Game Pass on both PC and Xbox Series X/S, and crossplay would help bridge the gap between the two platforms. Here’s all you need to know about Curve Digital and Neon Giant’s newest release’s cross-platform compatibility.
Cross-platform compatibility is included in The Ascent’s list of launch features. Unfortunately, it does not apply to all of its users, and Steam users will be left out, at least for the time being.
When a user brought up the issue on Steam, a developer stated, “The Ascent features cross-play between Windows 10 and the Xbox platforms (Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S/X).” “However, there is no cross-platform play between Steam and Xbox.”
It’s unclear if The Ascent’s crossplay will expand to include Steam in the future. If you’re planning on playing with pals, make sure you everyone buy the game on Steam or via Microsoft’s ecosystem, whether it’s Game Pass or the Microsoft Store.
